Why This Demo Uses a School
This working demo is based on a portal originally built for a school. Its school-specific sample data is fictional: enrollment, school divisions, financial records, board documents, and leadership examples illustrate that implementation.
The underlying architecture is not limited to education. A live portal would be configured around your organization’s structure, terminology, permissions, reporting needs, and leadership workflow. Enrollment and school divisions are examples here, not required features of every Finance & Board Portal.
Adapted to Your Organization
- Enrollment → operational metrics: clients served, membership, attendance, program participation, occupancy, or service volume.
- School divisions → organizational units: departments, programs, ministries, locations, branches, service areas, or business units.
- Board documents → governance and leadership documents: board packets, policies, committee reports, and leadership reports.
- Strategic projects → major initiatives: capital projects, campaigns, facilities, technology, expansion, or organizational goals.
- Financial reporting → your reporting structure: departments, programs, funds, locations, ministries, business units, or cost centers.
These configurations can serve nonprofits, churches, associations, foundations, ministries, membership and community organizations, boards of directors, multi-department businesses, and leadership teams.
Role Views in This Demo
Board Member: Dashboard, Financial Reports, Enrollment, Documents, Strategic Projects, Calendar, Notifications, and Account. The dashboard combines financial results, enrollment, recent documents, and upcoming meetings.
Department Head: Dashboard, Financial Reports, Enrollment, Documents, Department Resources, and Account. Both a file and its section must explicitly allow the viewer’s eligible Administration/Department Head group. All Viewers, legacy files, and financial department selection do not grant document access. Calendar, notifications, and strategic projects are Board-only in this configuration; production supports explicit section grants.
Finance Administrator & Super Admin: User / Group Management, Document Management, Financial Dashboard Management, and System Maintenance. Editable fictional forms demonstrate financial entry, categories, publishing, and section/group visibility. Global maintenance and credential changes are unavailable.
Reporting in This Implementation
The demo uses July–June fiscal years and shared year, month-range, and department filters. Revenue less expenses equals net; actual net less budgeted net equals net variance. School Wide is a department; All Departments aggregates all departments. Cash remains school-wide: dashboard cash widgets hide when a department is selected, while Financial Reports retains its separate cash filter. Enrollment remains school-wide.
Secure Documents & Leadership Updates
One ordered Portal Sections registry controls navigation labels, order, active state, and group access. Categories organize files within document sections. Board viewers can access All Viewers or matching-group files in permitted sections; Department Heads require explicit group assignment at both layers. Finance and Super Admin retain administrative download access. Explore As changes the effective viewer, and every PDF request rechecks that perspective. Strategic projects use the document library. Calendar and notifications show dates, priorities, and publication windows.
Using This Demo
Log in with demo / catalyst demo. Explore As is a demo-only control. Filter reports, inspect charts, download permitted fictional PDFs, and export data from System Maintenance. Changes affect only your private workspace. Create and edit financial entries, cash balances, enrollment, meetings, notifications and sample documents; adjust fictional users’ groups and section permissions, then Explore As to see their effect. Uploads and password changes are unavailable. Reset My Demo restores the current baseline; Log Out deletes your workspace. Workspaces expire 12 hours after login, with hourly and request-time cleanup.
Dates follow the WordPress site timezone. Monthly financial fixtures and annual document editions stay current. Private overrides preserve your amounts and authored dates. Revenue minus expenses equals net income; actual net minus budget net equals variance. Documents use bundled fictional PDFs, never visitor uploads. Maintenance includes private audit history and CSV exports.
